AVO health is led by Dr Iheadi Onwukwe and has been established since 2006. The company comprises of a team of professional consultants with extensive expertise and experiences. AVO staff and consultants have in-depth knowledge and experience of joint working with local stakeholders in the Federal Capital Terriory and 36 states of Nigeria.
The team provides dedicated corporate support which includes a responsive and dynamic operations management, health services, contract support and financial accounting control systems. These surport functions enable optimal management and regular reporting on projects.
Dr Sule is a retired Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria and held numerous top management positions in the health care system of the Federation.
His experience in the health sector is vast and invaluable to the health economy.
He served as the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Director of Community Development and Population Activities, Coordinator, National Tertiary Hospital Commission and held several other responsibilities.
He leads on policy and governance advocacy.
Dr Onwukwe is a fully registered public health physician on the UK General Medical Council Specialist Register (4691635). He possesses a diverse portfolio of specialist expertise and competencies in public health, leadership and management, including providing leadership and governance for health.
His portfolio also includes policy and strategy development and implementation, institutional audits, implementation of health reforms and organizational change, providing public health information and intelligence management, including monitoring and evaluation, assessing the evidence of effectiveness of health and healthcare interventions, programmes and services and surveillance and assessment of population health and well-being, including assessing the burden of diseases/health care needs and the commissioning of appropriate health services amongst others.
Since 2006, he has been the chief executive/consultant on public health to AVO Health Limited, a public health consultancy firm. He has participated in and coordinated several health based surveys for federal, state, multinational companies and international donor agencies both in the United Kingdom and in Nigeria.
Operational & Finance Staff
Adangozi Onumonu is a project/operations management specialist with experience in quality management, public health, people management, effective communication among project teams and community outreach. Her strategy for management is focused on effectively engaging people through relationship-based management in order to harness their full potentials to deliver results. She is currently the Project Management Specialist/Operations Manager at AVO Health Limited.
Ada co-managed a project to improve communication among different departments and the students in the University of Bedfordshire through the use of a centralised events calendar. Prior to that, she worked in Candix Engineering with focus on quality assurance and control, drafting procedures, designing templates for inspection and driving the implementation of Quality Management Systems. Additionally she was a Field Officer actively involved in the pilot phase of the Universal Access to Female Condom (UAFC) Project as a corp. member in the Society of Family Health Edo organising and leading monthly review meetings with lead trainers to review the progress of activities in Auchi and its environs.
Ada has a first degree in Human Physiology. Her interest in understanding human behaviour led her to do a semester course in Peace and Conflict Studies before proceeding to the UK to obtain a Master’s degree in Project Management. Ada is a member of both the Association for Project Management (APM) in the UK and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a certified PRINCE2 Practitioner. Anna Braimah is a senior accounting professional with extensive experience working at board level with diverse range of internal and external stakeholders across private and public sector. Adept at financial planning and project management. She has a solid track record of using advanced research, analysis, strategic planning and negotiation skills to successfully develop business initiatives whilst maximising output, minimising cost and driving continuous change.
Prior to her engagement with AVO, she was the Finance/Tax manager of a Telecommunication brand, I Q Technologies Ltd, a partner with MTN Nigeria Limited. She also served as the trustee/executive member of Sister Phil Charity Foundation, an NGO tailored to support widows and orphans. Additionally, she was the Audit/Tax consultant with a firm of chartered accountants, Osawaru & Co chartered accountant.
Anna studied accounting and is also an associate member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Yakubu Kure specialises in program and supply chain management .He ensures the success of the organisation’s key programs and large scale projects through effective coordination between units. He is currently involved in designing and implementing programs from the inception through to implementation. He has experience in the various stages of programme design, planning, milestones establishment, while overseeing deadline
Yakubu previously served as a program officer. Prior to that he successfully launched, directed and managed large scale programs in AVO Health limited by performing management functions such as planning, scheduling, organizing and tracking processes, ensuring the feasibility of each program. He also served as a research assistant for assessing the role of non-state actors on HIV/AID activities, FG Data verification in Taraba state and at the same time free medical outreach in Khana local government area in Bori River state.
Obinna is an Account Officer and specialist in management inventory account, taxation and public sector management account and budgeting. He focuses on evaluation of ledger account, management of withholding tax requirements and schedules of all control account for management result delivery. He is currently the Account Officer at AVO.
Obinna has worked as a project account manager for the free medical outreach project in Rivers State executed by AVO Development Program for the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). He also served in the same capacity for the PATHS II Behavioural Change Communication (BCC) Mini –Survey in five Nigerian States.
